4 June 2008: Pharmacogenetics in Context

A joint symposium of the Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.

Understanding the impact of genetic variability in drug response is an important component of the implementation of personalised medicine. However, rapid and widespread introduction of robust and acceptable genetic tests is yet to happen. This symposium will review the reasons for this and the current state of play with regard to the translation of research findings into clinical practice.

Who should attend?
Academics, industrial and regulatory scientists interested in the issues, as well as clinical practitioners and those concerned about patient and physician acceptance of genetic testing of drug response.
Venue: Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, London
