Anna Pokorska-Bocci - Programme Lead
Anna Pokorska-Bocci brings expertise in science and regulation to the Foundation team. She works primarily on our programme to assess the impact of whole genome sequencing, and also contributes to the framework for action on birth defects project. She also regularly writes articles for the news service.
Prior to joining the Foundation in 2010, Anna worked for several years in the industrial sector, most recently as Senior Scientist and Project Manager for Asterand (previously Pharmagene), a human-tissue based contract research organisation.
She originally graduated in molecular microbiology and genetics and went on to obtain a PhD in molecular genetics at the University of Paris XI. She then completed a postdoctoral training in molecular neuroscience at the MRC Laboratory for Molecular Biology in Cambridge.
