The achievements of the Public Health Genetics Unit (PHGU) in the ten years leading up to the establishment of the PHG Foundation in 2007 span diverse disciplines, initiatives and outputs. All of these were consistent with the Foundation’s overall aim of realising the greatest possible health benefits by the responsible and evidence-based application of genetics, genomics and other areas of modern biology.
While we are working on new projects around our central theme of 'making science work for health', some recent examples of our previous work provide a flavour of our experience and achievements to date.
