Past work: Service development

In previous service development work we have taken a coordinated approach that includes analysing the evidence, reviewing service needs, engaging patient and public groups to gauge their needs and wishes, and bringing together the many different professional groups involved, to secure the consensus and ‘ownership’ that are essential to achieving change in practice.

As knowledge brokers, part of our role is to help traverse the barrier between research-generated knowledge and its practical implementation. In the past, we have undertaken reviews of emerging technologies and assessed their readiness for health service application, working with experts in the appropriate fields to identify barriers and recommend ways to overcome them.
