Sara Payne

 

Sara is an experienced solicitor advising on legal and ethical issues in the regulation of medicines. She has particular interest in the role of medical devices. Sara advises professional medical organisations on legal and ethical policy and the maintenance of quality standards. Her recent work includes the expert group report from the Commission on Human Medicines on the possible risk of a 1960s hormone pregnancy test and a new anaesthetist advice report on use of blood for Jehovah’s Witness patients. Sara is a member of a Great Ormond Street Hospital Funding Board making investment decisions relating to research into childhood diseases.

Sara has an English degree from Christ Church, Oxford University and subsequently qualified as a solicitor. She is currently undertaking MA in Medical Ethics and Law at King’s College, London.
