My Healthy Future - healthy ageing

4 April 2018

Healthy ageing is not just about disease prevention and extending life, it is about creating the environments and the opportunities that enable people to be and do what they value throughout their lives. With the number of people aged over 85 set to double in just over 20 years, developments in biomedical, genomic and digital technologies could help us optimise our health in later life.

In 20 years time:

  • What technologies will be available to slow the ageing process, help older people remain healthy despite adversity and prevent disease?
  • Can these technologies address social adversity?
  • What ethical, legal and social issues surrounding these technologies need to be addressed?

PHG Foundation will publish a final report based on the My Healthy Future work in 2019. In the meantime, we'll be posting related resources before and after each workshop. Take a look at the resources and share your views on Facebook and LinkedIn and follow #myhealthyfuture on Twitter.
