Patricia Cervera de la Cruz

Policy Analyst (Humanities)

 

Patricia is a policy analyst in the humanities team, specializing in the legal and ethical frameworks governing scientific health innovations, and the health data governance structures that support them. Before joining PHG, she served as a research associate at KU Leuven’s Center for Biomedical Ethics and Law and was a visiting researcher at Harvard Law School’s Petrie-Flom Center.

Patricia holds a BA in Philosophy and Psychology from Durham University and an LLM in Medical Law and Ethics from University of Edinburgh. Patricia is currently completing her PhD at Ghent University, focusing on the secondary use of health data within the European Health Data Space (EHDS) regulation. Her research bridges the gap between complex data governance and ethical considerations around the fair use of health data for citizens, drawing on her experience with the PROPHET and SCOBE projects to develop sustainable policy roadmaps for personalized prevention and digital health implementation.
