Australian-Chinese stem cell collaboration

A new Australia-China Centre for Excellence in Stem Cell Sciences is to be established in a partnership between Monash University and Peking University (see press release). Monash Immunology and Stem Cell Laboratories (MISCL) have been awarded federal funding to set up the new centre as part of the Australian government's International Science Linkages programme; the Chinese government have matched the AU$1 million investment over three years. Researchers will study various aspects of stem cell biology including potential therapeutic applications against serious infections, autoimmune disorders and cancer.
