HFEA consultation on PGD for lower penetrance conditions

Preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) is a technique whereby embryos created by in vitro fertilisation are screened for the presence of a disease associated genetic variant, and only embryos without the variant are implanted in the mother. The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) has announced that it will hold a public discussion on the use of preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) for lower penetrance conditions
