Prof Eamonn Sheridan

 

Eamonn is a Consultant in Clinical Genetics at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals and Professor of Clinical Genetics at the University of Leeds. In October 2022, he was appointed to the Genomics England Clinical Interpretation (GECIP) Board as its Chair. He has also been Chair and Vice Chair of the British Society for Genetic Medicine.

After undergraduate studies in Manchester and Frankfurt Eamonn qualified in Medicine from the University of Manchester. He trained in clinical genetics in Leeds and at the Kennedy Galton Centre in London.

Eamonn’s  research focus is on inherited disorders in childhood and includes the identification of previously unknown disease genes among the Pakistani Heritage community in West Yorkshire.
